  1. Here's how I use this stuff to connect two ST's, called "cricket" and
  2. "jeff".
  3.  
  4. cricket.rc - place in C:\NET.RC on node "cricket".
  5. ftpusers - place in C:\FTPUSERS. on both nodes
  6. hosts.net - place in C:\HOSTS.NET on both nodes
  7. net.rc - place in C:\NET.RC on node "jeff"
  8. net.tos - Place anywhere on partition C
  9. read.me - Place this in your head
  10. readme - this too

  12. Create folder C:\FINGER and fill it with files that same as your
  13. username.  I have a file called "JEFF".  File should contain any text
  14. you want.
  15.  
  16. Connect the two systems with a pair MIDI cables, IN to OUT.
  17.  
  18. Run NET.TOS.
  19.  
  20. On "jeff", do a "ping cricket" to verify connection.
  21. Try "ftp cricket
  22. username: jeff
  23. password: (just hit return)
  24. dir"
  25.  
  26. You will get a top level directory.

  28. "type bin
  29. get desktop.inf t.tmp"
  30.  
  31. Note you need "type bin" to copy any files between ST's.  Text files may
  32. copy okay anyway, but this never hurts.  Refer to NET.DOC for more
  33. information.
